Join the Getting to We team for The Amazing Amazing Inclusion & Belonging Edutainment™ Experience — a fun, transformative learning experience as we use the arts to learn the competencies needed to navigate our increasingly multiracial and multicultural society.

The Amazing Amazing Inclusion and Belonging Edutainment™ Experience, November  14-15, 2024, in Cleveland, Ohio, is a one-and-a-half-day professional development conference  that uses theater, comedy, dance, music and other art forms to unravel DEIB complex issues, help leaders prepare for a changing job market, foster life-long learning and build community. The experience will focus on building four core competencies: holding multiple identities, realities and perspectives; using social privilege for mutual benefit; connecting intention and impact; and moving from certainty to curiosity.

Participants will learn how to use these skills to strengthen our shared humanity, build greater human connectivity for "Me to We Skills" for places where we work, serve, live, socialize, and worship. Special guest speakers and performers will share the stage and delve into key topics around cultural competency, including:

  • New York Times bestselling author and poet Clint Smith and Eve Bridburg, Founder and Executive Director of Grub Street, the nation’s largest literary writing center, will explore how language represents our thinking and shapes our world view.
  • Writer, Performer, Jenny Hagel, , known for her stints on “Late Night with Seth Myers” and Executive Writer of “The Amber Ruffin Show,” will present a keynote on connecting impact and intention.
  • Members and staff of The Cleveland Orchestra  will perform music that shows how we can move from a mindset of certainty to curiosity.

There's more!

  • There will be breakout sessions using theater, film, and comedy where participants will go deeper into each competency.
  • We will use dance to help us tell stories through movement and how to bond together and build bridges.
  • We’ll use the lunch time for human connectivity and exploring inclusion and belonging with a team-building exercise.
  • We'll close the conference with an interactive theater performance and create a digital Book of Learnings!

This event is open to business and community leaders, workplace teams, diversity professionals, educators, civic and faith-based organizations, artists and media influencers invested in creating a society that works for everyone.
