Gift Acceptance Policy

Getting To We, Inc. accepts gifts that are consistent with our mission, vision, and values. We look forward to being in partnership with our donors to achieve our mission and are grateful for all gifts and grants from donors in support of our organization’s work.

We respect donor privacy, and donor information that should be private and confidential will not be made public. We encourage donors to seek guidance from their professional advisors on the tax implications of their gifts and grants to Getting To We, Inc.

Financial donations and other forms of support such as in-kind services or restricted gifts will be accepted from individuals, partnerships, corporations, foundations, government agencies, and other entities subject to the following limitations:

• Values—whether the acceptance of the gift will compromise any of GTW’s core values
• Compatibility—whether there is alignment between the intent of the donor and the use of the gift
• Public Relationship—whether the acceptance of the gift would compromise GTW’s brand reputation or erode or diminish public trust in GTW’s work
• Primary Benefit—whether the gift’s primary benefit lies with GTW or the donor
• Consistency—whether acceptance of the gift is consistent with GTW’s prior practice
• Form of Gift—whether the gift offered is in the form GTW can use without incurring additional burden on staffing workload or substantial expense
• Effect of Future Giving—whether this gift will encourage or discourage future gifts

Oversight for this policy lies with the GTW Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer in collaboration with GTW Board of Directors.
